About Me

Heidi Pollard-Hermann

MA, MSN, PMHNP-BC, PMH-C

I began my career working alongside survivors of human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation at the Mexico-California border. My masters degree in cross cultural studies from Fuller Theological Seminary provided a lens in which to engage in cross cultural trauma attuned work.

Moving into nursing came as a natural fit to further engage in supporting others within reproductive health. After receiving my masters from University of San Diego in nursing, I began working at Oregon Health and Science University on labor and delivery. Birth work is an honor. I appreciate the role of holding space, facilitating brave spaces and supporting others during the transformative experiences around birth both celebratory and grief filled. I continue working alongside pregnant folks with the OHSU Center for Women's Health.

Continually I see the the need for accessible mental health support for those throughout preconception journeys through pregnancy, postpartum and loss. In my desire to further meet this need, I continued my education and completed a second MSN program as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from Gonzaga University.

As a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, I care for most mental health concerns with a focus in supporting those throughout their perinatal and parental journeys. Parents taking care of their mental health creates ripples that transform their children, families, community and our world.

I joined the UpWell Psychiatry team and see clients 14 and older, virtually in Oregon and Washington. I strive to continue to utilize an anti-racist, decolonized and ecofeminist lens within the work.

You can also find me volunteering with Postpartum Support International as an executive member of their Oregon Chapter Board of Directors. Please reach out if you'd like to learn more about becoming a chapter member and getting involved!
